About BEAKS Longgrove
Why crocheted bags?
I was fascinated by crocheting from a very early age. My mother taught me how to do it as a child and so I started to crochet small dresses and accessories from scraps of wool very early on. My doll and my teddy bear were my first, of course, grateful customers and my crocheted works were admired by other doll moms.
As a teenager with little pocket money, I began designing bags for myself and making them as crochet pieces. Mathematics studies, my job in IT and my family left little time for this beautiful, creative work in the years that followed. But I have never lost my passion for colours, shapes, patterns and design.
In spring 2022, I decided to start my own business producing high-quality, crocheted bags regionally and market them internationally.
Why
beaks longgrove?
The brand name is derived from my initials BEAKS, but it also symbolizes something else. What do beaks have to do with crocheting? The chain stitch and the single crochet, two of the four basic stitches of crochet resemble a bird’s beak.
LONGGROVE stands for Langenhain, the place where I have lived for a long time, where I feel very comfortable and where production takes place.

What does beaks longgrove stand for?
Each bag is unique
Due to the special way the stitches are formed, each piece of crochet can only be created by hand and is therefore a unique piece. Industrial mass production is not possible. Therefore, in contrast to knitting and weaving machines, there are still no crochet machines.
And that makes every single crocheted bag from BEAKS LONGGROVE so unique.
High quality
The yarn ends are sewn invisibly by hand on the back of the crochet piece and additionally secured. If, despite the great care, something comes loose, please contact us.
Regional Manufactory
Made in Germany: that is what we stand for with great passion.
From the design to the finished bags, we produce regionally in the Rhine-Main area. Therefore, the transport routes from our factory to your home are short.
Sustainable materials
We use yarns and fabrics made from natural materials such as cotton, cellulose or leather wherever possible. When it comes to mixed yarns that contain synthetic fibers, we make sure that the synthetic fibers are made from recycled materials. You will find relevant information in the descriptions of the models we offer.
No waste during production
Apart from a few centimeters of yarn at the beginning and end of a crocheted piece, there is no waste. Due to the geometric shapes, waste can also be largely avoided when making the inner pocket out of fabric.
Environmentally friendly care
If the bags get dirty, they can be wiped down with a damp cloth. Some can even be washed. However, drying our bags in a tumble dryer is taboo – see care instructions
Reusability
You no longer like the shape and pattern of the bag you bought from us, or they are no longer stylish enough? No problem! All crocheted parts of the bag can be unraveled, the yarn washed and a new model made*.
Contact us and we will work out together what your new bag should look like. We will determine the costs and delivery time and you can decide whether you can soon look forward to a bag in the new design.
Alternatively you can also send your bag back to us*. We will determine the current material value and pay this out to you. New bags are then made from the yarn. You will find a corresponding note in the descriptions of our bags in the shop.
*The crocheted pieces must not have any damage or stains that cannot be washed out.
